My
DIL took this picture of Miss S.
teaching her brothers the fine art of bribery with milk, cookies and carrots
for the reindeer. I wanted to capture the soft, magical colors of the photo,
while giving a few hints of the sparkling lights in the background.
I
chose several of the Bo Bunny Winter Wishes pattern papers that came in the
Vintage Winter kit from Swirlydoos: Icicles, with the subtle pink pattern, and
the more detailed Frosted and Whimsy.
To
begin, I decided where I wanted to put my photo and lightly marked the place
with a pencil. This let me know just where to use a stamp to add a bit of
background texture.
I cut
a 5" square from the Whimsy paper and used one of my favorite punch sets,
Martha Stewart's Cherish to create a background frame. The photo was mounted on
a piece of brown cardstock, then on a bit of packaging to give it some depth
and glued to the punched piece.
I cut
a few long pieces of the Frosted sheet, taking advantage of the striped
pattern, and arranged them horizontally and vertically behind the photo. When I
was satisfied with the arrangement, I glued it all down.
I've
had this package of Prima flowers for quite a while and I love how they bring
out the colors of the Christmas tree lights. I added a dangle piece from my
collection of odds and ends. The clay swirls were made with the IOD Baroque 1
Mould. I've lightly applied a bit of Blush Gilding Wax to give them a hint of
color.
To
finish, I placed a few Kaisercraft self-adhesive pearls around the edges of my
punched frame.
