The Le Roy, NY Historical Society has been uploading a series of photos to the town Facebook page in the hopes that someone can identify the subjects. They’ve been going through boxes of donations and discovering that some of the items are complete mysteries. Unfortunately, no one seems to know who this lady was. I fell in love with her nonetheless and decided that I just had to feature her in a layout.
I’ve used the February 2023 Scrapbook Kit and Mood Board from Tres Jolie along with some lace from Reneabouquets to create this page.
I’ve been trying to dust off and use some of the tools that I’ve acquired through the years. The Eyelet PAP from Martha Stewart seems to be a perfect match for the other elements.
I began by cutting a 7” circle and distressing and inking the edges for my bottom layer to create a bit of interest. The photo was inked, matted with a distressed and inked layer of paper, then placed on top of the punched and inked piece. I realized that the lace wasn’t going to fit comfortably, so I cut off the bottom of the punched layer.
I started layering the Prima flowers along with some of the die cut pieces when I glanced at the chipboard set that came with the patterned paper. I decided to use the vines, so I took out my brushes and applied a base coating of gesso. Once that was set, I covered the pieces with Distress crayons and then tapped them with water – just a small bit to give them a watercolor effect.
I finished my page by adhering a journaling piece and adorning it with one of the vines and a die cut bee.
