The Scheme:

Well, along with scrapping, I love to read. In fact, I've loved books all my life; there's nothing like getting lost in a well-written and -plotted story or learning about history and the people who made  it. And while I appreciate the convenience of e-books, I still love to curl up with the heavy "real" thing.

I've photographed the book that I'm currently devouring along with the one I just finished and the one that I intend to pick up next.

This actually came together quickly. First, I used a stencil and Distress Ink to create some interest on each side of my image. Next I tore out a few pages from some old books to use as my background. (Don't worry - I bought these a while back at a flea market for scrapping; I still own copies of these wonderful books!) The clipboard was cut from cardstock. After rounding the corners, I glued it to a bit of packaging cut to fit. Next, I adhered another piece of cardstock to a piece of chipboard and dusted off an old Tim Holtz die to create the top.

Embellishing was easy: some greenery from the "Autumn Bloom" kit, some flowers from my stash (the smaller ones were altered with Color Bloom mist), a paper clip and a title that I printed out. It still needed a bit of something, so I adhered a book page to some cardstock, cut out some tags, and added a bit of twine from an old Swirly kit.
