I’ve used this
photo of my Wedding Day in 1968 several times, but this is the one image that
came to mind when I opened up the February Mixed Media kit from Tres Jolie.
I started by applying
the Fire Brick watercolor to my wreath, adding more and less water here and
there and leaving some spots white.
While that was
drying, I gave my chippie pieces several thick coats of gesso. Next, I applied
the same gesso to my flower centers then dry brushed the petals.
Assembly was
quick. First, I glued my framed photo to the wreath, adding strips of cardboard
in back to add stability.
In order to extend
my chipboard pieces, I cut them in half and placed them over and under my
photo, reserving one piece for the cluster on the other side.
To finish my
project, I added the “Love” resin word from the kit and a few resin butterflies
that I’ve had for a while…
