A Couple of Tags for Valentine's Day

It’s been a short month for scrapping, but I did want to take advantage of Très Jolie’s Cards, Tags and More Kit for February.

I love the non-traditional colors of the papers and flowers with the blues and grays among the varied shades of pink that came with the kit. Add the Creative Embellishments chipboard hearts, and you have supplies for dozens of cards and tags that are perfect not only for Valentine’s Day, but for a lot of special occasions in the months to come.

I’m still determined to make use of those tools that have been sitting idly by. Here, I’ve used a long-neglected craft punch as well as my Bow-It-All.

I started by gluing a bit of doily left over from the December kit to the upper side of the paper and trimming it along the edge of the tag. I added one of the chipboard pieces that had been treated with Lindy’s embossing powder.

In the spirit of de-stashing, I added a bit of lace to the bottom before gluing on the flowers and a couple of leaves that I punched from a scrap.

I adhered one of the images from the sticker sheet to a piece of packaging and glued it down.

A little more de-stashing: I found the ribbon for my bow in the same jar as the lace to add the perfect finishing touch.

My second tag is more about layers, with the back and front sides of one of the papers peeking out from under the doily (another item from the de-stash pile).

I’ve added more of the flowers from the kit and a snipped-off piece of chipboard hearts that I colored with Color Bloom mist.

I embellished the bottom with an image from the sticker sheet and the top with a seam binding bow.
