Find Yourself: A Tag

 

I’m participating in a tag swap with a group of incredibly talented ladies at Scrapbook.com. This is what I sent out to my partner…

The Très Jolie Cards, Tags and More kit for September came loaded with “ingredients” that were perfect for my project; I’ve added a few more “ingredients” from my stash…

I covered both sides of a large manila tag with paper from 49 & Market’s Vintage Artistry Coral collection, using a punch to cut a somewhat larger than usual hole on top. Once this was assembled, I inked the edges using Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.

I adhered several strips of Washi tape down the right side, leaving the pretty print on the left to blend in with the embellishments.

I die cut a frame from white cardstock and a scrap of the patterned paper and glued them together. I cut a center from another scrap and attached it all to the tag.

Next, I added several flowers and vines and topped them with two fussy cut butterflies. I painted a little gel medium here and there under the flowers and sprinkled on bits of shaker elements from Buttons Galore.

The chipboard sentiment was treated with embossing powder and glued across the frame.

I finished the tag with a triple bow made with dyed seam binding that came in the kit.

I used a bit more of that patterned paper to make a card with a handwritten message inside. (It’s amazing how much you can get out of one 12” x 12” sheet of paper!)

After inking the edges, I stamped the sentiment across the card. I attached one of the small vines that came in the package, using a skewer to curl the stem. I glued a few wood hearts here and there and taped it all to the base.
