I decided to use my frame to display my parent’s wedding portrait that I changed from black and white to a very vintage looking color photo.

I began by applying a small bit of glue to the tab on the bottom of the frame, attaching it to the base and allowing it to set for a bit.

I covered the entire surface with black gesso and allowed it to dry. I gave the base and front a good coating of crackle paste, then set it aside for a while.

 For the final (and magical) layer, I used the Dina Wakely white acrylic from the kit. This is a nice, thick medium and I was able to vary the application with some thick and some thin areas to give the appearance of an old piece of furniture.

I used the same acrylic paint to cover the back of the oval that I used as a base for my photo so I could pencil in the “Who” and the “When” on the back. Once the image was glued on, I attached it all to the frame.

I mentioned that the kit came with several packages of flowers; one of these was a vine and I absolutely love vines! I trimmed the stem a bit and glued it to the frame.

I adhered a few Art Stones onto the base and gave them a coating of Sparks acrylic.

 I selected two of the blooms from the remaining flower package, dry brushed the petals here and there with more of the white paint and gave them a bit of sparkle with Micro Beads before gluing them to the base.
