I was so excited when I learned that Tres Jolie’s November Scrapbook Kit would be filled with the latest 49 and Market Vintage Artistry collection, In the Leaves, with the gorgeous greens and browns and oranges of Autumn… I was even more thrilled when I opened my package and saw that Kim had included some of her new chipboard pieces!
I began with this photo of my granddaughter taken while pumpkin picking back in 2012.
I altered the chipboard piece, first giving it a base coat of clear gesso, then painting layer upon layer with the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Mists and Magical Shakers that came in the October Mixed Media Kit. The colors were a perfect match with the hues of the In the Leaves elements.
After inking the edges of my photo, I matted it with a couple of the large pieces of ephemera with layers of packaging in between.
I selected a few of the cut-outs from one of the laser cut sheets (I love how they’re perfectly pre-cut!) and placed them on either side of the photo. I used Glue Dots to attach them; this gives them a very small amount of dimension. I added some of the acetate foliage leaves and butterflies to fill out the embellishment layer.
After gluing the chipboard frame to the photo, I selected a few of the word pieces from the ephemera package, inked the edges and glued them down.
I finished my piece by adding a few of the small flowers from the Blossom Blends package and a couple of the laser cut butterflies.
