This is my first
month as part of the Swirlydoos Design Team and what a way to start! The Indigo
Dream Kit and Add-Ons are packed full of gorgeous colors, elegant
embellishments (with a bit of fun thrown in!) and the opportunities to create
several OTP projects.
I started with
the sketch (did you know that every Swirlydoos Kit comes with an original
sketch created by Swirlydoos Designer Kim Heard?), the Entwined sheet from
Scrapberry's Primavera collection and this wonderful photo of my daughter-in-law
and granddaughter from a few years ago.
Here is the
sketch.
And my layout...
And a few
closeups...
I'm now hosting
the All That Flutters Challenge - a monthly chance to show off some of your collection of butterflies,
dragonflies, bees, ladybugs, birds, fairies and anything else that well,
flutters!
Here is the
layout that I created as an example, using the amazing chippie that came in the
Main Kit and a bird that I made with air-dry clay.
Some closeups...
This next layout
was actually built around this amazing peacock feather that's part of the main
kit. I used the Pearl Texture Luxe and a Prima stencil to create a bit of
interest in the background and a few chipboard feathers from my stash; the rest
of the embellishments are all from the Main Kit and Flower and Embellishment
Add-Ons.
The Heidi Swapp
Memory Files Kit and the Maggi Holmes flower clips from the Flower-Add On gave
me a big moment of "aha"! I've been trying to come up with a system
of keeping track of my projects - ideas, deadlines, photos - all of the
"To Do" stuff that I'll need for the upcoming month and this was
perfect.
I've added some
wood alphas from my stash to the front and a calendar printed on cream
cardstock; all of the rest of what you see is from the "Indigo Dream"
Kit and Add-Ons.
The small album was adhered to make a handy place to keep notes and ideas. More notes on the opposite page all held with the pretty resin clips that were included in the Flower Add-On; turn the page for more notes and ideas...
And the last page; I've created some pockets to hold even more photos that I want to use as soon as the opportunity comes up.
And now for the Carousel
from the Project Add-On Kit - I've colored it with Chalkboard paint and then
used papers from the main kit and a few odds and ends from my stash to decorate
it. Krissy included a string of LED lights, which I entwined around the center
post. When lit, this is an amazing piece of home decor!
