Meadows of Time

This layout, featuring three of my mother’s siblings back in 1937, was created for the February Heritage Challenge at Scrapbook.com.

I chose a few sheets from Blue Fern Studios’ Sanctuary collection – Meadows of Time for the background and Correspondence for the matting and embellishing.
The chipboard clock was colored with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink, then adhered to the paper and trimmed.
I created a few border strips to place around my matted photo using a Martha Stewart punch and a tag and a base for my title with a Sizzix die.
Before tucking the tag behind my photo, I jotted down the names and ages of my Uncle and Aunts, along with the date that was noted on the original image.
Lots of flowers from my stash and a little bit of excelsior were all I needed for embellishment…

A word about the title: as I tried and tried to come up with something, I noticed the title of my paper and had an “aha” moment! What could be more perfect? I simply cut it from the bottom strip and adhered it to a bit of packaging (to give it dimension) and glued it to the bottom of the photo.
