I’ve chosen to
keep my first layout of 2019 pretty simple, taking advantage of the pattern of
the background paper and the pops of red from the matting and the beautiful
flower spray.
I’ve made a
point of scrapping my son’s hunt for the perfect Christmas tree every year
since 2010, when a tired little girl became so very upset when Daddy cut the
tree down. https://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/332343/view/3035567/-1/288/0.html
That same little
girl has grown into a young lady and has acquired a pair of twin brothers since
then, but the annual hunt has gone on, with the kids getting bigger and
somewhat more cooperative when it’s time for the photo shoot.
We’ve been
having a lot of warm weather here in the Northeast, so rather than bundling up,
we’ve been wearing sweaters and sweatshirts and rain boots for the mud, hence
the very un-Winter-like image.
As I mentioned
above, I found the paper a little too busy for a lot of adornment, so I decided
to simply use a stenciled image to frame the photo. I backed each layer of
matting with a bit of packaging to add some dimension before gluing it all
down.
The larger flowers
from Darice are actually mint, so I sprayed them with mist for a color that
would blend in with the tree, using only a bit on one flower and more on the
other two.
That cute shovel
was broken in half to allow both ends to show on either side of the cluster.
With the
exception of the mediums, the stencil and the red roses, all that you see here
was created with the December 2018 Kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club.
