Another
layout using the August Tranquility kit from Swirlydoos, featuring gorgeous
papers, flowers, chipboard and embossing powders from Blue Fern Studios'
Tranquility collection.
I
decided to keep this one simple, taking advantage of the splash of color in the
photo to catch the eye.
First,
I took the last of the Shabby Brick Bits chipboard from the Main Kit and coated
it with Prima chalk edger in Old Road and adhered it to the Blissful paper.
Next, I taped a bit of packaging to the back of the photo so it would lie flat.
I
went deep into my stash and found some bark icons from Prima as well as a few
metal gears to use as embellishments.
Now
for the fun: a bit of gesso mixed with an equal bit of water and a fan brush
and started splattering - a technique that I learned from Cindy Brown. For a
bit of variety, I rubbed some of the Old Road chalk edger on my craft mat and
blended it with the gesso mix; then I did the same with Branch Bark chalk.
Pure
boy - Nicholas ended each and every day of vacation covered with sand from head
to toe! He loved filling his dump trucks and making castles (with a little help
from Daddy).
