Ready to Face the World for the Swirlydoos "Spring Grunge" ATF Challenge

I'm now hosting the ATF (All That Flutters) Challenge at Swirlydoos.

Each month, there is a different theme; this time, it's all about men!

This is my father's high school yearbook photo, taken in 1936, scrapped with the new "Spring Grunge" kit and add-ons, full of pinks and grays and black tones, perfect for a more masculine layout.

I've added some background interest by applying the DecoArt wax through the Tim Holtz Harlequin stencil onto the Wood Background paper. Next, I tore the Stone Quartz sheet. A full 12" strip was adhered just above the center of the page. I further tore some of the remainder to create several layers of matting beneath my photo. I added some drywall tape from my stash down one side and on the bottom and embellished it all with flowers, stickers and a pennant from the Gems and Paper Clips package.

I took one of the two dangles from the chipboard package and primed it with black gesso. When it was dry, I lightly went over it with the same DecoArt wax that I used with the stencil, being careful to let a lot of the black show through. Lastly, I glued the necklace from the main kit on top, drew the chain up and over the paper and taped it to the back. (I cut off the unused chain, saving it for later.)
