This is the
third of four layouts that I created during my long scrappy weekend, again
using the October kit from Très Jolie.
The photo
features the same couple who I featured in my first page, many years later. My
Great-Grandmother is second from the left; she’s standing between her two
sisters, Tae and Meg. My Great-Grandfather is the gentleman in the center
sporting that fabulous mustache.
My Grandmother
is the lady holding the baby: my Uncle Jack. On her left is my Great-Aunt
Peggy; on her right is my Great-Aunt Anna. (No one could remember the identity
of the lady on the end.)
I began by fussy
cutting various images and inking the edges before arranging them on a piece of
packaging to serve as a background. My hostess, Maggi Harding, supplied the
burlap that I needed to change the elegant look of the paper to something a
little more rustic. I cut another piece of paper a bit larger than my photo to
serve as matting and layered it with more packaging to give it some dimension.
I took the
chipboard leaf corner from the Cards kit and a title word from the Mediums kit
and coloring them with Kaisercraft ink in Forest, then using Cat’s Eye ink in
Pumpkin Spice around the edges.
I went over the
flowers with the same inks before gluing them down to the corner of my photo.
And there you
have it: one more quick – and easy – layout…
